Getting Recruitment Right

This new online training course will provide you with a practical framework for recruiting fairly, lawfully and effectively.

About the course

Recruiting the right person at the right time is one of the most beneficial things an organisation can do. This course will help you to improve your ability to employ the right people, in the right positions, and boost your team’s efficiency and productivity.

Whether you are involved in shortlisting for a post, or chairing a recruitment panel, it is expected that all staff involved in the recruitment process complete the following e-learning modules that are part of this course: Recruiting the Right Person and Conducting Effective interviews. Completing these two modules will help you to get recruitment right.

It is recommended to complete ‘Recruiting the Right Person’ first, as this offers a more general overview of the recruitment process and practices at the University of Edinburgh. It is then best followed by the ‘Conducting Effective Interviews’, which follows a manager through an interview process.
