Partner Career Support

The University has engaged HCR, a specialist supplier, to provide career support for partners of our relocating employees.

What is partner career support?

Partner career support aims to support the partners of staff who have relocated to Edinburgh and who are looking for a job. This service is designed to help make your move a positive one by helping your partner establish a career in the local area.

The service is self directed, and include:

• Career Resource Network portal which includes access to: Virtual coach led learning events on job search topics, Pre-recorded workshops & webinars, Career self -assessments, LinkedIn Learning - 16,000 courses to support reskilling/upskilling opportunities, Digital Talent Exchange facilitating connections to recruiters, CV Builder, Interview Simulator, Premium databases to support job search activity including D&B Hoovers & Cobra business start up, and Daily job leads – including unpublished opportunities
• CV development
• Consultant on call
• Networking connections with other job seekers
• Lifetime access to Alumni resources for on-going support

How much does it cost?

The service is funded by the Relocation Support Service. However if you leave your role after a short time, you will be liable to pay back some of the costs.

Accessing the service

The service is available to an employee of the University of Edinburgh where:

• you are appointed at Grade UE08 or above;
• your initial appointment is for a duration of 36 months or longer;
• you have relocated to take up your new role at the University
• your post is funded by the University;

How do I apply?

To request a Partner Career Support Programme for your partner you should email a completed Partner Career Application Form to our Relocation Support Provider, HCR.

This service last for 3 months in duration, so please only submit your request once your partner is ready to engage with the services provided.
